Dog zones in the flat and hotel
So that all guests - with and without dogs - can enjoy their stay to the full, we ask you to respect the designated dog areas.
- Welcome areas: Dogs are welcome in your room, in the flat lobby as well as in the hotel and also in our à la carte restaurant 'die Orangerie'.
- Excluded areas: Out of consideration for other guests, dogs are not permitted in the hotel restaurant, in the entire wellness area of the flat and hotel and in the house bar "Der Alchemist".
Dogs must be kept on a lead for harmonious coexistence:
We ask you to keep your dog on a lead at all times in the entire hotel area and in the flat. This also applies to walks in the Schladming-Dachstein region in order to protect the local wildlife and grazing animals and to avoid conflicts.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration - your holiday with your dog will be a relaxing experience for everyone!
Liability and damage to property
As a dog owner, you bear full responsibility for your dog's behaviour. Any damage caused by your dog must be fully covered by you or your insurer - this also includes compensation payments by the accommodation provider to third parties. We therefore strongly recommend that you take out pet or personal liability insurance to cover any damage caused by your dog.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration - your holiday with your dog will not only be a great experience for you, but for everyone involved!

Hiking tips directly from the hotel
Farm round
Length: 2.9 KM | elevation gain 110 metres | duration approx. 40 minutes
A gentle hike around the hotel that will delight both you and your dog. Breathe in the clear mountain and forest air, immerse yourself in the tranquillity of nature and discover what it has in store for body and soul. Learn interesting facts about the healing power of our local flora and its positive effect on your health.
Gumpental
Length: 7.93 KM | elevation gain 230 metres | duration approx. 2 hours
The easy hike along the idyllic Gumpenbach stream to the Stangl-Alm is a real insider tip for nature lovers and their faithful dog. The trail leads through the picturesque Gumpental valley - one of the most beautiful corners of the region - and delights with its tranquil, unspoilt landscape.
ATTENTION: From the Stanglalm, there is a dog ban in the direction of Moaralmsee.
Styrian Bodensee
Length: 14.3 KM | elevation gain 470 metres | duration approx. 4 1/2 hours
This varied hike leads directly from the hotel along forest and woodland paths through idyllic nature to the Steirischer Bodensee lake. The ascent is moderate, but requires good footwear, especially on wet ground. After around 2 to 2.5 hours, you reach the picturesque mountain lake, which is framed by impressive peaks. There is a well-maintained circular route around the lake.
Hauser Kaibling
Length: approx. 12 KM | elevation gain 900 metres | duration approx. 4 1/2 hours
We start our hike directly from the hotel in the direction of Gumpental. After about one kilometre, we reach a turn-off that leads us to the idyllically situated Knapplhütte (closed in summer). From there, we follow the path further up to the Krummholzhütte. Once at the top, you have the option of either continuing to the summit of the Hauser Kaibling or taking the path to the picturesque Kaiblingalm. If you want to enjoy a nice ride, you can take the gondola down into the valley and then hike back to the hotel in comfort - a perfect combination of mountain experience and views.
NOTE: The gondola is included with the Sommercard | Dogs must be kept on a lead and muzzled in the gondola | Dogs are charged extra for the gondola ride
