The Eco Lodge is the perfect starting point for unforgettable experiences in the heart of the Styrian mountains. Whether active or relaxed, sporty or enjoyable - the adventure starts right on your doorstep. Hiking trails, bike tours, animal encounters and quiet nature spots invite you to discover the surroundings at your own pace. In summer and winter alike, there is a wide range of possibilities - from family-friendly excursions to sporty summit tours.
Experience nature as it should be: unspoilt, close and relaxing.
Farm circuit
A small, lovingly tended nature experience begins directly in front of the Eco Lodge: the Höflehner farm circuit. The leisurely walk takes you around the hotel grounds and invites you to discover our animal world up close - from dwarf goats to alpacas and our red deer in the enclosure. The farm tour is a special experience, especially for families with children - here you can marvel and observe. But those seeking peace and quiet and nature lovers will also find relaxing spots with a view, cosy benches and insights into alpine life on the Gumpenberg.
Tip: The Hofrunde can be walked at any time of year - in summer nature is in bloom, in winter the area is covered in a silent blanket of snow.
Red deer enclosure
A real highlight for nature lovers and families: the hotel's own red deer enclosure right next to the Nature and Wellness Hotel Höflehner. For generations, the Höflehner family has looked after its own herd of red deer with much love and respect - a piece of living tradition on the Gumpenberg. Every Monday we invite you to the red deer feeding - an impressive experience where you can observe the majestic animals at close range and learn exciting facts about their way of life, behaviour and husbandry.

Alpaca and llama
Get to know the most charming four-legged friends on the Gumpenberg in person! The Alpaca Meet & Greet gives you the opportunity to get up close and personal with our gentle alpacas. Our fluffy companions radiate a special calm and make this experience a real feel-good moment - whether as a little break for in-between or as a lovely surprise for the children. The Meet & Greet takes place regularly directly at the hotel.

Goat enclosure
A special highlight awaits our little guests right next to the children's club at the Nature and Wellness Hotel Höflehner: the goat enclosure with our trusting dwarf goats. Here you can watch, marvel and laugh to your heart's content - because our goats are not only curious, but also real crowd favourites.
Important: Feeding is only possible under supervision and as part of the children's programme. This ensures that the animals are well looked after and that our younger guests learn how to treat animals with respect through play.

Gumpental
One of the most beautiful hikes in the region starts directly from the Eco Lodge: the Gumpental circuit. The trail leads you through a wonderfully peaceful natural landscape - past lush alpine meadows, clear streams and with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. The hike is easy to moderately difficult, well signposted and ideal for nature lovers, families or anyone who simply wants to take a deep breath. A special highlight along the way is the rustic Stanglalm - a cosy place to stop for refreshments with warm hospitality and regional delicacies.
Styrian Lake Constance
An excursion to Lake Styria is one of the absolute highlights around the lodge. The route is ideal both as an idyllic hike and as a varied e-bike tour - with wonderful views, clear mountain air and lots of little moments of nature along the way.
A romantically situated mountain lake, nestled in the impressive mountain landscape, awaits you at your destination. There you can:
- enjoy refreshments in one of the cosy huts
- marvel at the impressive waterfall
- or hire a rowing boat and explore the lake from the water
Hauser Kaibling
The Hauser Kaibling is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the region - and can be reached from the Eco Lodge via several routes. Whether it's a sporty hike along alpine trails or a relaxed ride on the gondola: the route is just as varied as the panorama at your destination.
Three paths - one destination:
- Via the Knapplhütte: Start directly from the lodge and hike via the rustic Knapplhütte (not open in summer) to the summit - ideal for experienced hikers with a desire for exercise and enjoying nature.
- Via the Moaralmsee lake: A fantastically beautiful route with a picturesque stopover at the idyllic Moaralmsee lake - perfect for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts.
- By cable car: If you want to take it easy, head down to Haus im Ennstal and take the Hauser Kaibling cable car up the mountain. At the top, marvellous panoramic trails, refreshment stops and direct access to the famous Schafsinn adventure world await you.
